Causes and risk factors

A psychiatrist or psychologist makes the diagnosis after a detailed assessment.
Treatment
Specialised talking therapies, such as dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), are the main treatment. Medicines may help with specific symptoms such as depression or anxiety.
