Most laryngitis is caused by a viral infection and gets better within one to two weeks. Long-lasting laryngitis needs to be checked.

- A sore or tickly throat
- A dry cough
- Constant need to clear the throat
Causes and risk factors

A doctor diagnoses it from the symptoms. An ENT specialist may look at the voice box with a camera if it lasts.
