Overview
Many pseudocysts go away on their own. Large or symptomatic ones may need drainage.

- A lump in the upper abdomen
Causes and risk factors
They usually follow acute or chronic pancreatitis, often caused by gallstones or alcohol, or injury to the abdomen.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis uses CT, MRI or endoscopic ultrasound.
Treatment
Treatment may be monitoring or drainage through an endoscope, a needle or surgery.
