Overview
Skin tags are very common and not cancerous. They can be removed for comfort or cosmetic reasons.
Symptoms
- Small, soft, skin-coloured growths
- Growths hanging from a stalk
- Irritation if rubbed by clothing or jewellery
Causes and risk factors
They are more common with age, obesity, diabetes and pregnancy.
Diagnosis
A doctor diagnoses them by examining the skin.
Treatment
Treatment is not needed. They can be removed by cutting, freezing or burning.
