Overview
Minor surgical procedures are usually quick and done as day cases, so you can go home soon afterwards.

Before the procedure
The doctor explains the procedure and checks your medicines, especially blood thinners. You can usually eat normally beforehand.
During and after the procedure
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic. Stitches may be used. Keep the wound clean and dry and attend for stitch removal if needed.
Risks
Risks include bleeding, infection, scarring and the lump coming back.
