Overview

Hormones control growth, development and metabolism. Paediatric endocrinologists diagnose and treat hormone problems in children and help families manage long-term conditions such as diabetes.

Who it may help

  • Children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • Children who are short or growing slowly
  • Children with early or late puberty
  • Children with thyroid or adrenal problems

What the service includes

Growth assessment, hormone tests, bone age X-rays, diabetes education and insulin management, and hormone treatment.

What to expect

Your child's height and weight are measured at each visit. Treatment is reviewed regularly as your child grows.
