Overview
A day assessment service lets pregnant women be checked promptly for problems such as raised blood pressure or reduced baby movements, often avoiding an overnight stay.
Who it may help
- Women with reduced baby movements
- Women with raised blood pressure or symptoms of pre-eclampsia
- Women with abdominal pain or light bleeding
- Women needing repeated monitoring
What the service includes
Blood pressure checks, urine and blood tests, monitoring of the baby's heart rate, ultrasound scans and review by an obstetrician.
What to expect
Most visits take a few hours. You will either go home with a plan or be admitted if needed.
