Overview
Most strokes can be prevented by controlling risk factors. People who have had a stroke or mini-stroke are at high risk of another and need prompt prevention.

- People who have had a stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
- People with atrial fibrillation
- People with high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol
- People with narrowed neck arteries
What the service includes
Risk assessment, blood pressure and cholesterol control, blood thinners for atrial fibrillation, neck artery scans, surgery or stenting for narrowed arteries, and lifestyle support.
What to expect
You will agree targets for blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar, and have regular follow-up.
