Subfertility affects many couples. Both partners should be assessed, as causes can come from either or both. Many couples conceive with simple treatments.
Who it may help
- Couples who have not conceived after a year of trying
- Women over 35 trying for six months
- Women with irregular periods, PCOS or endometriosis
- Men with abnormal semen tests
Treatment options
Options include lifestyle advice, ovulation induction, surgery for tube or womb problems, intrauterine insemination (IUI) and IVF.
What to expect
Tests include hormone blood tests, ultrasound, tube tests and semen analysis. Your doctor will explain the options and success rates.
