World Health Day 7th April 2014.This day is celebrated every year providing an opportunity for individuals in every community to get involved in activities that can lead to better health. The topic for 2014 is vector-borne diseases (Disease that results from an infection transmitted to humans and other animals by blood-feeding arthropods, such as mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas) Vectors are organisms that transmit pathogens and parasites from one infected person (or animal) to another. Vector-borne diseases are illnesses caused by these pathogens and parasites in human populations. They are most commonly found in tropical areas and places where access to safe drinking-water and sanitation systems is problematic. Kulsum International organized training workshop in collaboration with Capita Development Authority (Sanitation Department) on the occasion of World Health Day, 2014.The campaign aims to raise awareness about the threat posed by vectors and vector-borne diseases and to stimulate families and communities to take action to protect them by adopting useful cleaning techniques. Mr.Asim Ansari( Manager Lab,KIH) delivered the Presentation to employee of Sanitation Department about the theme of World Health Day and how to control the vector borne disease.
